This problem could also be bothering you. If not handled well, many parodies can occur. This may affect the reviews of the movie. And maybe even your recipe. So, years before the film's release, this is the question I ask them: what are they supposed to do with your-whoo?

More specifically, you mustthe silver chairThe film continues Glimfeather's tendency to end sentences with "ooh". In the book, I smiled and maybe rolled my eyes a little when I realized it, but it wasn't a big deal. It's different when it's all in your head. In a movie, I think it would really piss me off.
What do you think?

Personally, I always found Glimfeather's you-whoo in the book amusing. I still laugh about it every time I reread the book.
But I think it's probably better that they leave that out of the movie. although I liked it in the book, in the BBC adaptation I found it a bit boring, of course that doesn't mean it would automatically be a problem if it stayed in the film. But I think it's the kind of thing that can upset the general public or make them laugh for the wrong reason.

That opening paragraph made me laugh.
I'd like a happy medium... if all his lines were taken directly from the book, it might sound too repetitive, but I don't think it would feel like Glimfeather without at least a few tu-whoos. He would keep some rhyming sentences and emphasize the unique, owl-like way that Glimfeather utters "ooh" in the rest of his dialogue.

They would certainly have to do this right. I HATE doing another comparison in LotR, but I'm thinking of Treebeard's "Hoo-ra-hoom" (or whatever it's spelled). In the book it's kind of weird, but in the movie it's almost imperceptible. I think if they do that, maybe as a bird/owl whistling sound effect, that would be perfectly fine.

I think they should have two or more in the movie, even if it's only when Glimfeather is excited or something. Or as Fantasia_kitty put it, use an actual animal sound instead of some guy going "you-whoo".
They have to stay true to the books, and I didn't care for the BBC version. In fact, I thought it added something to it.
And I was disappointed that in the movie Prince Caspian Trumpkin only had one or two of his "horns and halibuts", "beards and pallets", "basement and beanstalk" etc. In the book, he had many more.
But it's just me.
"I am," said Aslan. "But I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the reason you were brought to Narnia, so that knowing me a little here, you might know me better there." -VTD

I agree, although I think it has more to do with the way Trumpkin's character was altered. The 2 times that Peter Dinklage gave one of those exclamations ("beards and platforms" and "pies and kettledrums"), it was very strange because Movie-Trumpkin is so severe. He just didn't feel right.

I think they should remove all the "to-whoo" and have the Talking Owls speak in normal-sounding English to be consistent with what they've done before. They didn't have Mr. and Mrs. Beaver trying to sound like real beavers, or Reepicheep all tall and squeaky like a real mouse. That would get laughs for the wrong reasons and detract from the story.

I agree with you, King Erlian. The other movies didn't have particularly animal-sounding voices. They had appropriate animal voices. In the book or audiobook, we must be reminded that Glimfeather is an owl. In a movie, he is right in front of you. When I think of an owl, I think of a wise old owl. Maybe Glimfeather is supposed to sound a bit old-fashioned and eccentric combined with owl sounds when he's not actually saying words. He certainly he should squeak, but not as part of a word.

The other movies didn't have particularly animal-sounding voices.
But they had the wolves growling and barking, and they had the fox barking when bitten. Cheetahs, leopards, and minotaurs roared in battle, and griffins screeched as they soared across the sky.
Personally, I don't care one bit about the consistency of the previous three movies, as everything about TSC will be different. Different actors, different animation, different direction. But even if it had, the other movies had animals/creatures making noise in their "own languages".
Again, I don't want to hear Glimfeather go "you-whoo" like he did on the BBC. That would be weird. But to make it like an owl whistle or something, I think it would be very appropriate and it would work well.
ETA: Oh yeah, if you're looking for animal noises while talking, Aslan roars at the witch while talking to her.

I think the talking owls should speak with whatever accent the director wants, with the computer generated owls thrown in. It may be ridiculous, but it's accepted on stage for a human disguised as an animal to sing with a human voice. But in a movie, there is much more available, and surely the sound technicians can mix the voice and the hooting of the owl.
There, shining in the rising sun, bigger than they had ever seen him before, tossing his mane (for it had apparently grown back) was Aslan himself.

I wouldn't want the voice actor to say "you-whoo" and come to think of it, I never imagined that the "you-whoo" in the book would come from a human voice. If they include the "you-whoo", I think it must be an eagle owl hooting. I prefer the voice actor to just say the lines (minus the "you-whoo") and add the owl sounds in post production. They could do this in a similar way to Aslan's line "Don't quote deep magic to me, witch!" combines Liam Neeson's voice with the growl of a lion.
As for the rhyme... if the actor manages to do it without sounding silly, I wouldn't mind, but it's not really important to me. In fact, I generally prefer most of the dialogue to be original and not taken directly from the book, except for a few key lines. It's probably just because I don't like the mental effort of avoiding hearing movie dialogue in my head when reading a book.

Animal noises would be the best way to get here for me. After all, I don't want anyone to forget that they are owls. Owls must act like owls even if they talk.I guess the real question for me is what kind of owls are they?

So basically I agree with the general consensus. Fantasia_kitty said exactly what she was thinking about the LWW animals by mixing the voice actors' words with the animal sounds.

What is the 36 question game? ›The so-called 36 questions to fall in love are a set of questions developed in the 1990s by psychologists Arthur Aron, Ph. D., Elaine Aron, Ph. - What's a question you've always wanted to ask me but never have?
- What do you remember from when we were falling in love?
